The birthplace of international actress Salma Hayek is an ancient land with interesting places for Mexican and foreign visitors. Although it was a pre-Columbian Olmec territory, it was founded in 1522, when Hernán Cortés sent people to settle the then called “Villa del Espiritu Santo”.
